Performance Improvement Tips
If your website is slow, switching to a faster hosting provider can significantly improve TTFB and overall loading speed.
What is a Website Speed Test?
The Website Speed Test tool is a free online tool that comprehensively analyzes your website's loading performance using the Google PageSpeed Insights API. Check key metrics such as performance score, Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, TBT), and server response time (TTFB) at a glance, with specific improvement suggestions.
Key Metrics Explained
- LCP (Largest Contentful Paint): Time until the main content is displayed on screen. 2.5 seconds or less is recommended.
- TBT (Total Blocking Time): Total time the page is blocked from responding to user input. 200ms or less is recommended.
- CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift): Measures how much the layout shifts during page loading. 0.1 or less is recommended.
- TTFB (Time to First Byte): Time until the server responds with the first byte. A key indicator of server performance.
Frequently Asked Questions
The performance score is calculated by the Google Lighthouse engine, combining multiple metrics measured while actually loading the page into a 0-100 score. 90+ is Good, 50-89 is Needs Improvement, and below 49 is Poor.
Mobile tests simulate slower networks (4G) and low-spec devices, resulting in lower scores than desktop. This provides results closer to the actual mobile user experience.
Refer to the improvement suggestions in the analysis results. Common effective measures include image optimization, JavaScript/CSS minification, reducing server response time, caching, and CDN. If the server itself is slow, switching to faster hosting is also a good option.
